How To Make A Charitable Bequest
If you would like to include The Research Foundation in your will, it is not necessary to completely revise your will. Simple ask your attorney to add a provision to your will with one of the following:
Bequest Designated for Where There is the Greatest Need
I give, devise and bequeath to The Research Foundation of Kansas City, Missouri, a Missouri nor-for-profit corporation, ______. (State “the sum of ________” or “the residue of my estate,” or all of my interest in the following described property______________”) to be used in such a manner as the Board of Directors of The Research Foundation shall determine in its sole discretion.
Designated Bequest
I give, devise and bequeath to The Research Foundation of Kansas City, Missouri, a Missouri nor-for-profit corporation, ______. (State “the sum of _______” or “the residue of my estate,” with the instruction that this contribution be used to support _______, provided however, that should changing circumstances render this use of funds no longer practical, the Board of Directors of The Research Foundation may make such changes in the use as it deems advisable.
Percentage Bequest
I give, devise and bequeath to The Research Foundation of Kansas City, Missouri, a Missouri nor-for-profit corporation, _____% of my estate under this will after the deduction of all debts, funeral expenses and administration expenses, but before the deduction of any death inheritance or estate taxes, it being my intention to exonerate this bequest from contributing to the payment of such taxes. Such bequest shall be used as determined by the board of Directors of the Research Foundation in its sole discretion.
