Research College of Nursing scholarship fundraiser nets more than $110,000
KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Nov. 13, 2017) - Friends and supporters of The Research Foundation and Research College of Nursing raised more than $110,000 in net proceeds for Research College of Nursing student scholarships at the 12th Research Royal Roast: “Meet Me Under the Clock” Saturday, November 11.
The Research Royal Roast included a cocktail social, Kansas City jazz by Mark Lowrey and dinner. Attendees will had the opportunity to participate in a reverse raffle, wine pull and silent auction. All proceeds benefited scholarships for students attending Research College of Nursing.
Each year, The Research Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate nursing students in Kansas City. During the 2016-2017 academic year, the Foundation awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships.
Emily McKee, a senior at Research College of Nursing and recipient of two undergraduate nursing student scholarships from the Foundation, shared hers experiences as a nursing student and the support she has received from Foundation donors with the event’s attendees.
Event underwriters were Research Medical Center and UMB Bank. Other major sponsors include Ross Construction, J.E. Dunn Construction and LabCorp. Dr. William Peterson and Dr. Diane Peterson served as chairs for the event.
