The Research Foundation Awards MSN in Nursing Education Scholarships

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Feb. 6, 2015) – The Research Foundation supports local nurses interested in pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education through annual scholarships.

Scholarships are available up to a maximum of $2,500 per year for a total amount of $5,000. Applying individuals must hold a BSN or meet admission requirements for graduate study in a nationally accredited nursing program and have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above to apply. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

A recent scholarship recipient said, “It took away the question mark in my head, whether I should pursue my master’s degree. After I received the scholarship I thought, ‘I should really pursue this. They believe in me so I’m going to go for it.”

The Research Foundation provides funding for Master’s of Science in Nursing Education to enhance the recruitment and retention of master’s prepared nurse educators in the Kansas City area. Cynthia Randazzo, President of The Research Foundation, said “Providing scholarships to future nursing educators will ultimately strengthen the entire nursing community. The Research Foundation aims to relieve the financial burden graduate school can bring and encourage current nurses to follow their passion of education.”
