Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Technology Student Scholarships

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support Radiologic Technology and Nuclear Medicine Technology students through funding.

Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 each. Scholarship may only be applied to tuition.

Eligibility: Individuals must be enrolled in their first year at the Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology program at Penn Valley Community College, School of Radiology in Kansas City, Missouri, Research Medical Center School of Radiology, Kansas City, Missouri, Research Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or the University of Kansas Medical Center Nuclear Medicine Certificate Program. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply.

Deadline: March 15. Notification of awards will be made by June 1 and funds will be distributed to the Radiology School or Nuclear Medicine Technology by August 1 for the fall term.

Application Requirements:

  • Completed Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Technology Student Scholarship application form.
  • An essay answering the following questions. Please include your career goals. Scholarship selection is based primarily on the essay component of the application. Your essay should not exceed one typed page.
    1. What factors influenced you to choose radiology technology or nuclear medicine technology as a career?
    2. How would you see your role as a radiologic technologist/nuclear medicine technologist influence patient outcomes in a positive manner?
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
  • Official transcripts with current GPA.
