Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Technology Scholarship Policy

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to encourage and support Radiologic Technology and Nuclear Medicine Technology students through the funding of student scholarships.

Eligibility: Individuals must be enrolled in a Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology program at Penn Valley Community College, School of Radiology in Kansas City, Missouri, Research Medical Center School of Radiology, Kansas City, Missouri, Research Medical Center School of Nuclear Medicine Technology, or University of Kansas Medical Center Nuclear Medicine Certificate Program. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply.

Scholarship Information: Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 each.
Completed applications must be received by March 1. Only first year students are eligible to apply. Notification of awards will be made by June 1 and funds will be distributed to the Radiology School or Nuclear Medicine Technology by August 1 for the fall term.

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Technology Student Scholarship Application Form.
  2. Essay: What factors influenced you to choose radiology technology or nuclear medicine technology as a career?
    How would you see your role as a radiologic technologist/nuclear medicine technologist influence patient outcomes in a positive manner? Please include your career goals. Scholarship selection is based primarily on the essay component of the application. Your essay should not exceed one typed page.
  3. Letter of recommendation from faculty member.
  4. Copy of official transcript with current GPA.
  5. Send completed application form and required information, no later than March 1, to:
