Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship Policy
Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to encourage and support nursing students through the funding of undergraduate nursing student scholarships.
Eligibility: Individuals must be enrolled in the nursing program at Avila University, Research College of Nursing/Rockhurst University Nursing Program, or William Jewell College. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply and must be a current sophomore or junior nursing student.
Application Requirements:
- Completed Nursing Student Scholarship Application form.
- Essay: Describe how you will incorporate the mission of the College or University that you are attending into your role as a nursing student and explain how your leadership experience and/or community activities will have an influence on you as a professional nurse. Scholarship selection is based primarily on the essay component of the application. Your essay should not exceed one typed page.
- Letter of recommendation from faculty member.
- Please complete the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Release and provide a signed copy to the person you select to provide your letter of recommendation form.
- Copy of official transcript with current GPA.
