Undergraduate Nursing Scholarship Policy

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to encourage and support nursing students through the funding of undergraduate nursing student scholarships.

Eligibility: Individuals must be enrolled in the nursing program at Avila University, Research College of Nursing/Rockhurst University Nursing Program, or William Jewell College. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply and must be a current sophomore or junior nursing student.

Application Requirements:

1. Completed Nursing Student Scholarship Application form.
2. Essay: Describe how you will incorporate the mission of the College or University that you are attending into your role as a nursing student and explain how your leadership experience and/or community activities will have an influence on you as a professional nurse. Scholarship selection is based primarily on the essay component of the application. Your essay should not exceed one typed page.
3. Letter of recommendation from faculty member.
4. Please complete the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Release and provide a signed copy to the person you select to provide your letter of recommendation form.
5. Copy of official transcript with current GPA.
