Young Traffic Offenders Program

The Young Traffic Offenders Program (YTOP) began in 1997 to offer judges a new way to deter young people from speeding, drunk driving and other related driving offenses. When young drivers ages 15 to 24 are convicted of offenses, a judge can sentence them to attend YTOP. Many attorneys also recommend that their clients with driving offenses take this class prior to their court appearance.

YTOP is a 6-hour program held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on select Fridays at one of two area hospitals. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for check-in and must present their photo ID. The cost to attend the class is $70. Payment must be received at the time of registration. Class registration is limited and is provided on a first come, first serve basis. Registrations are not accepted after 3 p.m. the Wednesday prior to your class.

YTOP was featured on KCTV 5 in 2011.

YTOP aims to change lives and driving habits by encouraging young drivers to confront the results and consequences of poor choices while driving a motor vehicle.
