Young Traffic Offenders Program
The Young Traffic Offenders Program (YTOP) began in 1997 to offer judges a new way to deter young people from speeding, drunken driving and other related driving offenses.
When young drivers, ages 15 to 24, are convicted of offenses, a judge can sentence them to attend YTOP.
Many attorneys also recommend that their clients, with driving offenses, take this class prior to their court appearance.
YTOP is a 6-hour program held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on select Fridays at one of three area hospitals. Participants are asked to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for check-in and must present their photo I.D. The cost to attend the class is $70 and you must be pre-paid by 3:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to your class. Payment can be made in one of the following ways:
Payment must be received by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to your class. The Research Foundation can not accept checks as payment for the class. The Research Foundation is located at 2316 E. Meyer Boulevard, Kansas City, MO. 64132
No shows and those participants rescheduling less than 10 days prior to their scheduled class date will incur an additional $35 rescheduling fee. You must call 816-276-4900 to reschedule. Rescheduling cannot be completed online. There will be a $25 processing fee if a cancellation is requested.
YTOP aims to change lives and driving habits by encouraging young drivers to confront the results and consequences of poor choices while driving a motor vehicle.
