The ECHO Team

Employees Contributing To Help Others

Providing Hope and Relief

"The ECHO Team was first on the scene to help put the pieces of my world back together after losing my dad. Words cannot encapsulate the relief and hope they gave me. The ECHO Team allowed me the opportunity to plan, mourn, and most of all spend time being present with my family at a time when I needed it most."

A Research employee’s father was hospitalized with COVID-19. Within 72 hours, he went from walking and talking to fighting for his life in the ICU. Soon after, her mother contracted COVID as well. Then, her father passed away. She took time off work to care for her mother as she made final arrangements for her father.

“This is by far the most traumatic event that my family has gone through. My parents had been married for 31 years and have never been apart until my dad’s trip to the hospital.”

The ECHO Team wasted no time in sending financial support her way. Within three days, her assistance application was reviewed and funded.

“What was most appreciated about the entire experience was the ease of the process at a time when my entire world suddenly seemed to be crumbling before my eyes. The ECHO Team was first on the scene to help put the pieces of my world back together after losing my dad. Words cannot encapsulate the relief and hope they gave me. The ECHO Team allowed me the opportunity to plan, mourn, and most of all spend time being present with my family at a time when I needed it most. They lightened my load so I could breathe”

She is hopeful others will join the ECHO Team so that more employees can receive help, if they ever need it.

“I recommend others give to the Employee Assistance Fund for the same reason I give every pay period - it makes a difference in peoples lives. Donating a small amount each check meets the need of hundreds who need a lifeline when life presents the unexpected. I hope that my donation can provide the same relief I felt to a colleague in their time of need.”
