Kansas City nursing students receive more than $285,000 in scholarships from The Research Foundation

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (May 23, 2019) –  The Research Foundation has awarded more than $285,000 in scholarships to nursing students in the Kansas City area ranging from $1,475 to more than $30,000.

Undergraduate nursing students preparing for their junior and senior years at Research College of Nursing are eligible to apply for scholarships through The Research Foundation. Scholarships were awarded to 32 Research College of Nursing students based on academic performance and financial need.  

Research College of Nursing scholarship recipients include Amber Akin, Elizabeth Barada, Ryan Barker, Blake Berhorst, Maggie Brennan, Morgan Bukaty, Audrey Byerley, Juliana Castillo, Madison Crenshaw, Emma Cummings, Theresa Demel, Carly Dorminy, Taylor Dunivan, Jillian Eckstein, Victoria Fasnacht, Molly Haddick, Kathryn Kampmeinert, Mary Koeller, Emma Kriete, Anna Lang, Kirsten Madick, Casslyn McNamara, Briana Mowery, Stephanie Ostrander, Abigail Ottoline, Tasia Roberts, Hannah Schaefer, Madison Stockstill, McKenzie Torgerson, Samantha Warren, Jaci Welker and Alexander Wobbe.

Five nursing students from Avila University and William Jewell College were also awarded scholarships. Avila University students include Jennifer Fahey-Winkelbauer, Kristen Link and Ashlin Vasquez. William Jewell College students include Jessica Farris and Elisa Pape.

“The Research Foundation has a rich history in providing support for undergraduate nursing students in Kansas City,” Cynthia Randazzo, The Research Foundation president and CEO, said. “This year is no different as we award scholarships to 37 deserving students who are working hard to build the skills needed to serve our community’s health care needs.”

The Research Foundation provides scholarships to undergraduate nursing students in Kansas City every year. Students should apply by March 1. Click here for more information about scholarship eligibility.
