Research Royal Dinner & Auction raises more than $115,000 for Research College of Nursing scholarships

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Nov. 4, 2019) – Supporters of The Research Foundation celebrated nursing students and their future contributions to health care Saturday, November 2 at the 2019 Research Royal Dinner & Auction: Give My Regards. The event has raised more than $115,000 in net proceeds and is on track to be the most successful Research Royal Dinner & Auction to date.

The Research Royal Dinner & Auction included a cocktail social, dinner and music by The Magnetics. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a reverse raffle, wine pull and silent auction. Research College of Nursing commemorative candles were also for sale. All proceeds benefited scholarships for students attending Research College of Nursing.

Each year, The Research Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate nursing students in Kansas City. During the 2019-2020 academic year, the Foundation awarded more than $285,000 in scholarships.

Audrey Byerley, a senior at Research College of Nursing and recipient of two undergraduate nursing student scholarships from the Foundation, spoke about her decision to become a nurse and the support she has received from Foundation donors with the event’s attendees.

Top sponsors included Research Medical Center, UMB Bank and LabCorp. Other major sponsors include J.E. Dunn Construction and David E. Ross Construction. Dr. Nichole VanDuyne served as the chair for the event.
