The Research Foundation awards scholarships to Kansas City nursing students

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Jun. 4, 2018) –  The Research Foundation has awarded 26 scholarships to nursing students in the Kansas City area ranging from $3,750 to nearly $26,000.

Each year, undergraduate nursing students preparing for their junior and senior years who attend Research College of Nursing, Avila University and William Jewell College are eligible to apply for scholarships through The Research Foundation. Scholarship selection is based on academic performance and financial need.  

Scholarship recipients from Kansas City, Missouri include Kristin Lee and Stephanie Ostrander.

Scholarship recipients from Raymore include Victoria Delphia and Quincy Martin.

Scholarship recipients from Shawnee include Amber Akin and Mallory Wiens.

Other scholarship recipients from the Greater Kansas City area include Kennedy Collins, Belton; Taylor Dunivan, Kansas City, Kansas; Bethany Hartley, Leawood; Audrey Byerley, Overland Park and Kelsey Jepson, Platte City.

Other regional scholarship recipients include Jessica Farris from Parsons, Kansas; Megan Farrington from Topeka, Kansas; Rachel Binder from Forest City, Missouri and Johanna Sheeran from Smithville, Missouri.

Scholarship recipients from the St. Louis area include Julia King, St. Louis; Abby Mason, St. Peters and Emma Kriete, Washington.

Out of state scholarship recipients include Emma Cummings from Colorado Springs, Colorado; Emily Matio from Fishers, Indiana; Molly Beelman, Molly Haddick and Elise Pape from Omaha, Nebraska; Lauren Beisheim from Papillion, Nebraska; Carly Dorminy from Collegeville, Pennsylvania and Sarah Hunter from Rockwall, Texas.

“The rising cost of college and university tuition coupled with the increasing need for nurses entering the work force makes our undergraduate nursing scholarship opportunities important for the future of health care,” Cynthia Randazzo, Foundation president, said. “These scholarships are made possible by our generous donors who understand that importance. We are excited to partner with them and these deserving scholarship recipients to help improve the health of our community.”
