This award was created to honor Kathy DeGrande who was devoted to her family, friends, and colleagues. She enjoyed life and loved traveling. She possessed the qualities that we admire and cherish in our family and friends. Kathy was known for her sense of humor and her easy-going personality. She was a respected leader in a variety of professional activities and was recognized nationally in her field. She was loved and admired and is missed by those who had the opportunity to know and work with her. At the time of her death in March 2000, Kathy served as the vice president and chief financial officer at Research Medical Center and Research Belton Hospital.
The award provides $1,000 for continuing education or taxable stipend to any full-time or part-time hospital staff member that exemplifies the characteristics describe below.

Eligibility
Eligible individuals must a full-time or part-time employee at a health care institution. The candidate may be nominated by a colleague or peer.
Deadline
Nomination materials must be submitted to the chief nursing officer by March 29. The chief nursing officer must submit the final nomination to The Research Foundation by April 8.

- A statement describing why the nominee should receive the Kathy DeGrande Award for Excellence. Please address the characteristics described above. Do not exceed one typed page.
