“That’s when God sent me an angel - a coworker. She suggested I reach out to The Research Foundation and get help from the ECHO Team.”
A Research Medical Center employee began having severe stomach pains. An ultrasound revealed she had gallstones that needed to be removed immediately. Her surgery was scheduled, but she did not have enough time to earn the necessary paid time off. She began to panic.
“That’s when God sent me an angel - a coworker. She suggested I reach out to The Research Foundation and get help from the ECHO Team.”
With help from her coworker, the employee was able to fill out an assistance application and receive help with her rent and utilities. She also received a gift card for groceries.
“It affected my family. I had no income at all. No money for food or anything else. I’m so grateful for the assistance. It really blessed me and my son.”
This Research employee understands the value of helping others in times of need. She has encouraged others to join the ECHO Team, which has been helping employees since 1994, and be a source of comfort for others who might find themselves in similar situations.
“You never know when it will be you. It’s a great way to help others when they are down and need help.”
