A dedicated single mother, who has spent more than a decade at Research Medical Center, recently faced financial hardship as rising utility costs and ongoing household expenses became difficult to manage on one income.
As winter energy bills mounted, she was forced to make difficult decisions about which essential expenses to pay first. Despite her best efforts, she fell behind on bills, receiving a shut-off notice that placed her family’s access to basic utilities at risk. With an outstanding balance, the stress of potentially losing services created additional challenges for her and her son.
Support from the ECHO Team and the Employee Assistance Fund provided a critical lifeline, helping her eliminate the past-due utility balances and avoid service interruption. This assistance restored stability to her household and allowed her to move forward without the burden of overwhelming utility debt.
“I appreciate not only the help you have provided, but also the encouragement and positivity you bring to help me do better in my own endeavors. It makes a lasting impact on me both professionally
and personally.”
For employees facing unexpected hardships, this type of support can make an immediate and meaningful difference, providing hope and security during some of life’s most difficult moments.
“The ECHO Team is here to help colleagues in their time of need. I feel fortunate to work with such an amazing team of people.”
