KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Jun. 23, 2022) – Students accepted into the traditional nursing programs at Avila University, Research College of Nursing, and William Jewell College have been awarded $292,310 in scholarships from The Research Foundation. The foundation has supported nursing careers through undergraduate scholarships for decades. The Research Foundation also offers scholarships to accelerated nursing students and provides other forms of financial assistance to nursing students attending the three schools.
“We believe in the power of education, and we also understand the importance of nursing in our community,” Cynthia Randazzo, The Research Foundation president and CEO, said. “Nurses are needed everywhere, Kansas City included. No matter where these students choose to work, we want to remove some of the barriers to obtaining nursing degrees.”
Scholarships were provided to 38 students in the three nursing programs.
Avila University nursing students were awarded $55,750 in scholarship support. Recipients include Victor Bamidele, Emma Bishop, Moesha Boyd, Madison Byard, Tierney Carley, Samantha Franco, Alexandra Funes, Hanna Ly, Rosmery Montes, Kiyah Neeley, Morgan Pettlon, Margaret Solberg, Chansouda Tjiang, and Tanner Yeisley.
Research College of Nursing students were awarded $188,560 in scholarship support. Recipients include Jessica Babler, Charnai Banks, Tigist Bannister, Kallee Bartlett, Tara Conrad, Jessye Gomez Del Castillo, Reese Hernandez, Victoria Houseman, Fatoumata Konare, Kimberly McIntyre-Clark, Nicole Portillo, Alycia Raya, Vanessa Rosqueta, Sonya Renee Vann, and Paige Westfall.
William Jewell College nursing students were awarded $48,000 in scholarship support. Recipients include Montanna Brelsford, Katrina Castro, Alexandra Entz, Kamryn Gastler, Anna Lancaster, Heather Pangborn, Payton Totzke, Katye Vausbinder, and Caitlyn Webb.
