KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Mar. 9, 2026) – The Research Foundation will host the Dr. James M. Flynn Symposium on Advancing Cancer Care for Primary Care Providers on Friday, May 8 at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel.
The Dr. James M. Flynn Symposium on Advancing Cancer Care for Primary Care Providers will provide primary members of the health care team with the tools and knowledge they need to advance frontline oncology readiness. This includes enabling primary care physicians to proactively identify risk, optimize evidence-based screening, and confidently integrate emerging prevention and treatment pathways into everyday practice. This will drive early intervention and improve patient outcomes, as well as strengthen cross continuum care alignment. The goal is to equip Primary Care Providers with practical insights on evolving oncology standards, referral optimization, and survivorship coordination to enhance collaboration with specialty care and elevate the overall cancer care ecosystem.
The symposium, sponsored by the Bixby Institute, The Research Foundation, and Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society, will offer physicians 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and nurses 8.3 contact hours.
