Physical therapy students receive $40,000 in scholarships from The Research Foundation

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (Jun. 30, 2026) – The Research Foundation has awarded $40,000 in scholarships to students studying physical therapy in the Kansas City region.

Eligible students were enrolled in their second year of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program with a graduation date of December 2027 at Rockhurst University or May 2028 at University of Kansas or University of Missouri-Columbia.

Scholarship recipients from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Rockhurst University include Gabriela Malache and Emma Perry.  

Scholarship recipients from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Kansas include Alyssa Kay Bloom, Olivia Chrisman, Lauren Hartman, Lauren Hodny, Hope Jackson, Cooper Jepson, Jayden Johnson, Matthew Karst, Caitlyn Kline, Anna-Katherine Marquette, Brianna Mussat, Gretchen Panovich, Peyton Peterson, Benjamin Pierce, Margo Salacz Plantz, Jake Sawyer, Sofia Semon, Sydney Stanton, Natalie Taylor, and Jayda VanAckeren.

Scholarship recipients from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Missouri-Columbia include Livia Bloomer, Harper Cooper, Catherine Cooper, Anna Eichholz, Alex Gehlken, Morgan Hartley, Margo Hawkins, Shelby Holst, Luke Johnson, Laken Manns, Kaci Needham, Elena Noetzel, Kaleb Pecher, Madeleine Ryan, David Smith, Natalie Tejada, Rachel Temmen, and Zoe Todd.

The Research Foundation also awards scholarships to traditional and transfer BSN, accelerated BSN, licensed practical nursing, radiologic technology, nuclear medicine technology, radiation therapy, and medical laboratory science students.
